The chemical composition generally consists of carbon (max 0.20%), manganese (max 1.70%), and alloying constituents like chromium, nickel, molybdenum, boron, and vanadium. The plates possess a tensile strength of 770 to 940 MPa and minimum elongation of approximately 14%. S690QL is also characterized by good impact resistance, even at low temperature levels (tested at -40°C). The high strength, toughness, and weldability of the material make it ideal for key structural parts where minimum weight is required and a high load-bearing capacity is desired.
