Carbon Steel EN24, also known as 817M40 or 8620 steel, is a high-strength alloy steel primarily made up of 0.36–0.44% carbon, 1.3–1.6% chromium, 0.2–0.35% molybdenum, and 0.6–0.9% nickel. This unique blend results in outstanding hardness, tensile strength, and impact resistance. In terms of mechanical properties, EN24 boasts a tensile strength of about 850–1000 MPa, yield strength around 660–850 MPa, and an elongation of 12–16%.
